What is counseling?

Specialization

As young adults, we are faced with the prospect of creating our own family. This transitional period, which can span several decades, brings joy and hardship. In my experience, when the hardship starts to weigh heavily on the joy, counseling can be of much benefit. I specialize in working with people facing issues with:

  • Finding a partner
  • Relationships
  • Decisions about having children
  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy and birth
  • New motherhood
  • (Single) Parenthood
  • Parenting
  • Balancing work and family life

Specific examples of issues that could bring you to my practice:

  • As a couple you want to break through old patterns and create a better future for your relationship
  • You are trying to come to terms or feel more comfortable with your new role as a parent
  • You feel insecure about your parenting skills
  • You have experienced birth trauma and now you are pregnant again
  • You have recently given birth and you feel more sad than happy
  • You feel overwhelmed by the demands of family, your partner, and/or work
  • You have unwanted negative feelings towards your partner or children
  • As a parent, you feel like you have to do it all alone and you feel out of control
  • Relationships are causing you pain and you feel like you’re incapable of finding an appropriate partner

If you recognize yourself in any of the examples above and want to move beyond the pain you’re enduring towards a more balanced you, I am here for you. I facilitate individual, couples, family, and group work.
